Vibrant Colors Historic Durbar Squares & Ancient Newar Traditions
The Journey & Photographic Vision
A Holi festival photography trip in Nepal is a sensory explosion offering a front row seat to the world’s most cinematic celebration of spring. In the historic UNESCO World Heritage squares of Kathmandu and Patan photographers capture the raw energy of Fagu Purnima as ancient brick temples become backdrops for vibrant clouds of vermillion indigo and yellow powder. What sets Nepal apart is the architectural framing of the juxtaposition of joyful color chaos against medieval Newari woodcarvings, ancient stupas and sacred shrines. From the ceremonial raising of the Chir pole to street music and Holi in Kathmandu and Terai, south of Kathmandu offers high contrast cultural storytelling found nowhere else on earth.
